We offer quality dance training for all ages and levels.
The studio has 3 different departments:

  • Future Stars - these combination classes are for dancers who ages 3 -  5 years (we will accept dancers younger than 3 into the program providing they are free of pull-ups)

  • Recreational - these classes run for 10 weeks at a time throughout the season, this is a great introduction to dance for those who are new to dance, but unsure of the commitment to a full season

  • Competitive - this program is for the more serious dancer who is wishing to have the opportunity to perform on stage, the commitment level for this program is greater

There are futher details on each of these programs on their individual pages.  Pleaes have a read of each to decide which program best suits

Miss Kim has trained at professional studios in Edmonton in the disciplines of tap, jazz, ballet, modern, lyrical and Ukrainian.  Over the years Miss Kim has participated in various festivals and competitions in Canada, United States as well as Japan.  During her high school years she was also a member of her high school’s cheer team and won a provincial championship as well as many international titles.  For the past 20years Miss Kim has been instructing students at various studios in Edmonton, Devon, Vegreville, Stony Plain and Leduc.  She has also had the opportunity to teach in Mexico and Sydney Australia.  In the past few years Miss Kim has also been called upon to instruct workshops and summer camps at various studios in Alberta & British Columbia. She has also been hired to choreograph routines for the cheerleading team of a local Junior High School.  Miss Kim is well known for her strong tap routines.  In July 2008 Miss Kim furthered her training in New York City with some of the senior dancers.  The group took in several musicals, the sights of the city and studied at “Steps On Broadway” and “Broadway Dance Center”.  In 2010 Miss Kim had 33 dancers qualify to perform on one of the stages at the Disneyland Park in California.  The group also studied with several master instructors at the “Edge Performing Arts Center”.  Seeing her dancers perform in the Disneyland Park has been one of the hi-lights of her career.  In the summer of 2012 Kim returned to NYC with a group of dancers to once again train at “Steps On Broadway” and “Broadway Dance Center”.  This trip was a special one in which the group had the opportunity to learn choreography from the dance captain from the broadway show “Chicago”.  Learning the famous kick line from the Radio City Rockettes was also a life time experience.  Most Recently Kim took 11 dancers to Florida to dance down main street at Disneyworld.  The group also took classes with a Disney choreographer,  and had the opportunity to perform at Disney’s Hollywood Studios theme park as well as Down Town Disney.  Miss Ehlers is a current member of the Alberta Dance Educators Association and is very active in the dance community including running three different dance festivals/competitions.  This summer she is excited to return to New York City with a fresh group of dancers!!  She has been a part of the staff at the school for 21years and the proud owner of the studio for the past 17 seasons.  Miss Kim looks forward to the new season and to making many more memories.
Miss Alyssa is credited for being an excellent and dedicated dance instructor. She has successfully trained in numerous forms of dance including jazz, ballet, lyrical, pointe, musical theatre and tap for the past 15 years. Alyssa has had the wonderful opportunity to take classes at Broadway Dance Centre, Steps on Broadway, Harbour Dance Centre, Triple Threat and many more. She previously taught at L.A. Dance Academy. Throughout the last ten years she has devoted her time and energy into teaching and assisting children of all ages. One of her strengths as a teacher is having the patience and ability to explain things in a way that each individual can understand. This past year Miss Alyssa graduated from the University of Alberta - congratulations to Miss Alyssa on this huge accomplishment in her life.  Devon School of Dance is excited to have Miss Alyssa back on staff for another great season!!

Miss Tracy

Tracy has studied Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Lyrical, Hip Hop and Musical Theatre passionately since the age of 3. While she was born and raised in Edmonton, her love of dance and extensive training has lead her to perform professionally throughout Canada, US, and Australia.  One of the most fulfilling performing opportunities was being asked to Tour the Middle East to entertain the troops.  Locally, she has been in numerous commercials and performed with many professional companies such as Dance Nouveau, Kompany, Rhythmatix and Free Fall to name a few.  Tracy has been teaching for over 25 years and within that time has won multiple choreography awards which has given her many opportunities to work with local dancers wanting to pursue their careers and perform in Las Vegas, Disneyland, Disneyworld and many cruise ships.
She is now passing on her vast knowledge and energetic spirit to her many students and has had the pleasure to watch them grow to continue their dance careers as professional dancers, performers, teachers and studio owners.  This summer Miss Tracy is joining Miss Kim in New York City with our dancers.  Devon School of Dance is excited to welcome Tracy to our dance family!

Miss Rhiannon

Miss Kaitlyn

At the age of 6, I began my dance training in my hometown studio of Beaumont Society School of Dance. I trained early on in many genres including jazz, ballet, lyrical and contemporary, as well as student taught numerous classes during this time. I spent many years competing in a variety of competitions and festivals in and around Edmonton, Kelowna and Las Vegas. My most fulfilling achievements include being awarded the overall high score out of hundreds of novice routines of all genres at a large CanDance competition for my classical pointe solo at the age of 12 which also qualified for the Dance Power Western Canadian championships.  At the age of 14, I was invited to be an apprentice dancer with Edmonton’s resident ballet company, Citie Ballet, under the artistic direction of Francois Chevennement and Laurence Menotti where I performed in 2 productions - a modern pointe show with the collaboration of live music from Edmonton’s Kita no Taiko Japanese Drummers and a newly created ballet production called Les Demoiselles De La Nuit. My passion for ballet motivated me to progress and advance my ballet technique and training and in 2012, I began dancing at Edmonton Dance Centre to train only in ballet under the RAD expertise of Deborah Morgan, who is now a RAD ballet examiner. In the summer of 2013, I audition and was accepted into Boston Ballet’s Summer Dance Intensive and trained under instructors from all across the United States as well as principal dancers from Boston Ballet’s professional company. I continued to train solely in ballet at Variations Dance Academy under Laurence Menotti as well as Dance Alberta under Crystal Donnelly. By the time I graduated high school, I had completed both my Advanced 2 RAD and Grade 8 RAD examinations with Distinction standings. Throughout my years of training, competing, and performing I spent numerous occasions substitute teaching many levels and ages of ballet in hopes of passing on my knowledge and love for ballet to the up and coming dancers!
My mother enrolled me in my first dance class at the age of 4.  By the time I was 6, I enrolled in Ballet, Tap and Jazz and I quickly learned that this was exactly what I wanted to be doing.  I had a natural flair for performance and I loved the stage.  By the time I was 12, my family and I moved from Alberta to Ontario, I successfully passed C.D.T.A. examinations up to the Advanced level with Honours in Cecchetti Ballet, Jazz and Tap.  I was part of a strong dance team known for our technique, performance ability and unique choreography.
I had the privilege of assisting our Artistic Director’s ballet classes on a regular basis for 4 years.  Working alongside her enabled me to learn how to channel my knowledge by clear explanations and demonstrations.  I learned how to bring out the best in each dancer by developing their natural ability, never giving up on them and refusing to foster a competitive spirit within the studio.
By the time I was in my senior year, I was trained in Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary and Broadway.  I excelled in all disciplines but was especially showcased in Contemporary and Broadway pieces as I was recognized for fully bringing my character to life on stage.  Working alongside the best choreographers in the area helped sharpen my artistic thinking, and taught me the processes required to produce sharp, unique routines.
I am currently teaching ballet, tap and jazz at studios in Edmonton and surrounding area.  I look forward to working with your talented dancers and imparting my ever-growing passion and knowledge I have gained throughout the years by some of the most experienced and talented dance teachers in Canada.
